The Restorative Exercise Institute is very excited to offer a certification in Healthy Feet! This course was developed for you, the health practitioner, to increase your knowledge base of feet and their biomechanical function.
We live in an urban jungle, so for many, going shoeless isn’t a viable option for most. More recently, we have become increasingly aware that the health and longevity of the feet depend greatly on their ability to function fully. Naturally strong feet are essential for healthy joint function and optimal bone generation, just to name a few.
Foot health is so essential to whole-body wellness, that we are now offering a chance for you to learn the basics of corrective exercises for the foot, ankle, and lower leg — and to teach it. This course is part of our grassroots campaign to educate as many people as possible in a short amount of time.
Changing the paradigm from “the-stiffer-and-stronger-a-shoe, the-more-it-supports-your-foot” to “the-stronger-the-muscles-in-your-foot, the-better-it-supports-your-body” takes many to be informed and many to be instructing others.
Biomechanist Katy Bowman, M.S., the author of Every Woman’s Guide to Foot Pain Relief: the New Science of Healthy Feet and Theresa Perales, DPM, have created an 18-hour course that will prepare you to offer a Healthy Foot Program as part of your current movement or therapeutic-based practice.
This course will allow you to not only participate in the barefoot training discussion with a well rounded, science-based approach, but also offer foot strengthening services in private or group format.
